That’s it. I’m definitely an antisocial. But is it really so bad to want to be on your own, absolutely on your own for a while? Is it really so horrible to put the answering machine on because you need to meet a work deadline and you don’t have the time to talk to your ladies of leisure friends who don’t have anything to do in their life apart phoning you (so sad)? After over a month of my parents being here and the kids (and husband) being at home for the (very long) Easter break, I really need a bit of peace and quiet, I need to be ALONE! Is this being antisocial? If so, then I’m. But I’m a working mother - even worse I am a self-emplyed working mother! - and I’ve got deadlines. So if you’re thinking of phoning me today, please don’t. I won’t answer anyway! Sorry.

Don't worry... I wasn't going to anyway!
And this is a recording, btw... I'm out in the sunshine with Charlie!
After all the busy-ness of family life, there is nothing more blissful than an entire whole day alone in the house with only yourself. No phone, no knocks on the door, nothing.
You are not anti-social, you're completely sane. Enjoy your own company and clear the noise in your head!
A kindred spirit. I love my family and my friends but I love the peace and quiet of the house when everyone is out. I find it very easy to ignore the phone during the day. Luckily I love my work.
Hi there-hope you get some time to yourself, its only natural and totally unselfish-have a great day!
Hi, I've been called that many times...Just as you said that we have work...deadlines...kids...kitchen...paperwork...correcting!
Being a working mother is way hard than anybody could imagine.
I know some "ladies" who actually blame you for not calling them or asking about them...although your relationship with them is merely superficial, and you only meet them once a year or two!

Absolutely agree with you on this one. Being alone is essential sometimes. Enjoy.
Nothing wrong with wanting some quality time with self. Just go for it and ignore any moaners.
This is not antisocial behaviour. This is a normal, sane reaction to the frenetic world we live in. Everybody needs some solitary me time every now and then. I like to get some every day if I'm honest.
What else to do to stay sane. I think we are all entitled to time on our own. I protect my own time ferociously and love nothing more than the sound of a quiet household whether I am working from home or not.

I know just what you mean!!!
I am anti-social most of the time then! LOL! ;)
I think you are more than normal and a little "me time" is something we all need from time to time. Hug!!
Some time to be solitary, to be by yourself and not at the beck and call of anyone (or any machine) is necessary.
My kids are grown, my DH is a dear, I still take off for the mountains by myself occasionally. Don't actually speak or hear another voice for three or four days.
And I consider myself a "social" person :-)

You just made the right choice. Only, no sense of guilt and no regrets, please!
Big Hug!
Lego arrived safely today - thank you so much. I owe you a caffelatte!
