The Cloud

(picture from La Repubblica)
What BA didn’t manage, an almost forgotten volcano in Iceland did: to stop the flights all over the UK and most of Northern Europe.

The Planet will have a slight reprieve with no flights leaving the UK and less pollution and Co2 being pumped into the air. It is very impressive how Mother Nature can ground polluting flights.

I’m not an expert in the field, but I cannot help thinking that all those underground nuclear tests probably have destabilized the Earth crusts so much that earthquakes will be the norm in the near future. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I hope you are wrong, I never thought about it like that!

Really? It's very hard to say what is the cause for all these natural phenomena, but surely the human hand has made its part... :(
We'll hope in the power of the Earth to re-establish the natural balances!
Buon weekend! ;)

@Looking Fab: I really hope I'm wrong, but all these bad natutal catastrophes don't make me feel very optimistic!

@Steve: Volcanos and eruptions are natural pehomena, of course, but I don't think that anybody knows exactly to which extent our abusing of the planet can influence it.

@ Danda: Yes, I agree with as written above, but I really believe that each of us should do more not only at personal level but also to lobby our politicians who seems oblivious to the fact that a lot of natural resources cannot be replenished anymore.

@Jan: Sorry about your daughter's holidays. My parents are here at the moment and should go back to Italy next week. So fingers crossed. Glad you're enjoying the book. Ciao.

Laine: Hope not, my dear. But it's worth thinking about! Have a nice weekend.

Like a hormonal teenager breaking out in zits, the world seems to be erupting all over the place with one earth quake or volcanic eruption after another this last year.

Is it worse than before or am I just paying more attention? I'm looking for a fun and sunny place/country to move to, but they all have shaky problems.

I believe you are right – this is just the beginning. It’s the same with all the floods, earthquakes, etc. I hope people can fly soon as it will be hard on some who travel to hospitals, or have to go to funerals or weddings, that sort of thing.

Ciao Antonella, happy Sunday! Well, sure, all the bad natutal catastrophes we are experiencing don't make you feel very optimistic... are your parents still at your house? Hope they spoiled you all! :)

It's been wonderful hasn't it - no planes!

Yes, you are right, you can play around with things and not expect any come back. A family friend was due back from Jordon today, wonder what she will do now?
