Yorkshire Wonderland

It’s been snowing on and off since New Year’s Eve and the result is a beautiful snowy landscape that makes everything look better. Unfortunately the conditions of the roads are not very good and we can only hope that it gets better by Monday when work will start seriously and everybody is going to go back to his/her duties. In our small estate nobody comes to grit or plough the snow away, we don't even have one of those yellow sand/grid container on the corner of the roads. Writing the 100th letter to the responsible council won't help either as they simply don't have enough funds to buy grit for every road here around. Sad reality! For the moment let's indulge in the beautiful Winter Wonderland from the window sipping a hot cup of cocoa and watching DVDs! And let's postpone to Monday our fight with slippery roads and frozen pavements…

That looks so beautiful.
My top three DVDs would be:
The Holiday
The Notebook
The Big Easy
All watched back to back!

How beautiful! Just time to stay inside, read, watch DVDs and relax. Enjoy these moments!

Wow - you're in the right part of Yorkshire for snow Antonella. On the coast (staying with my parents) there was the merest dusting. It was very icy, though!!

Snow is always so wonderful when it creates an almost mystical atmosphere. But once it turns black and hard, as it has here, I'd forget about the whole wonderousness of it all.

Here's to an easy drive out into the real world.

So beautiful and magical! We had the same Winter Wonderland right before Christmas (15cm of soft lovely snow) but we are STILL fighting with slippery roads and ice everywhere :( The pavements around here have 1-2 cm of ice on them, not funny at all! Hope you won't have the same problems :)
Enjoy the snow while it is still soft! And have plenty of hot cocoa. We will have a "vin brulè" in 30 mins :) Nitenite!

We are having the same weather here in New England. Beautiful photos but wish you had a 4 wheel drive so you could drive in it. It's not fun when they don't plow your road.

It does look beautiful as long as you can just stay indoors or just take photos. Getting to work in it is no fun.

What beautiful pictures. Almost makes me miss living somewhere with winters. Almost.

And I'm so glad you enjoyed Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Unfortunately the third book, The Victors, doesn't come out until August.
