My cake

Thanks to all of you for the very kind birthday wishes. I spent a lovely day with my family and some friends, although the weather was cold and rainy!
I'd just like to show you the cake that my daughter made for me. It took her two days of work and secrecy and a bit of help from her dear friend next door but she did it! She was so proud to give it to me. Please not the little ant on the leaf, a little joke about how my friends abbreviate my name! Unfortunately I cannot offer you a slice, not even virtually, as it's gone completely !!!

So sorry I missed your Birthdy my friend but you know I have had to spend a lot of time lying down lately. I am so glad you had good time. Your daughter did a great job on the cake.

Very cute! I noticed the Ant right away, fun to hear that's how people shorten your name!

Happy belated birthday Antonella, the little ant is so special, it's nice to have your name shortened by your friends. My friends call me Liz but not all. I love the text in your last post about giovinezza. Thanks for leaving your email address, I wanted to send you a photo of Buddy but he's always on my blog so I guess it's not necessary anymore.
Have a great week, hugs

Sorry to miss your birthday - the cake is really cute! (or should I say, WAS really cute!).

I was born at 11.55pm, I just couldn't wait till the next day. This year though it is a significant birthday with an 0 on the end, so I shall be spending the whole day saying "I'm not really x0 yet!!!"

What a wonderful way to show you her love for you. The cake looks delicious. I love her inclusion of an Ant! So very clever.
I hope you had a wonderful day, despite the rain!

Lots of love,
Mervat.

Ciao Ant ;) just leaving a pawprint. I finally posted and also added a "virtual tour" of Ayr to my Photo Album. Will come back on Friday to see if you posted. Hugs!!!

Antonella, the cake is gorgeous!

I've tagged you on my blog. Btw, what do you think of the Paolo Coelho book? I like his stuff, but haven't read that one.

@Kia: Thanks very much. At my “old” age, every birthday is special!!!

@Jane: I wish she was as interested in school matters!!!

@Sugar: Thanks, dear, the cake was delicious and it made me cry of emotion. Hugs to you as well.

@Maria Grazia: I’m proud of her as any mother would be, but what I feel especially proud of is that she speaks Italian perfectly too. Ciao.

@Jeannette: Your wishes are always welcome, dear Jeannette. Hoep you’re feeling a bit better by now.

@Beth: My Italian friends called me ‘Anto’, but my English ones just “Ant”!

@Elizabeth: I like the name Liz very much, but Elizabeth sounds posher! My daughter is called Victoria but we call her Vicky and sometimes just Vic (although I don’t like it much). Ciao.

@Littlemummy: Thanks, Erica. She’s definitely better than me at baking and decorating!

@Jackie: Thanks for the b-day wishes. Let me know when you will be turning into the -0 year [I bet it’s your 20th, isne’it?] and we’ll have a celebration online!!!

@Hilda: Thanks very much for your lovely wishes in my past post. You’re always so kind to me.

@Mervat: What can I say to you dear Mervat if not thanking so much again for the beautiful surprise that I received from you on Monday. Such a lovely thought and so many beautiful presents!!! You’re such a star!

@LaBelette: Ciao, bella! Thanks for the wishes and the compliment. The daughter is indeed beautiful but the mom a year older!

@Yummy Mummy: So lovely to bring me your wishes from that Paradise you are at the moment. Enjoy every minute of it and a bit for me as well. It’s pouring rain and cold in the UK at the moment! Sigh….

@Fabrizio: Grazie mille, caro Fabrizio.

@Kia: Ciao again, carissima! Your new photos are really beautiful. I see that the new camera has been immediately put to good work!

@notSupermum: Thanks for the tagging, dear. I’ll complete the ‘task’ as soon as possible. I’ve just started the book. It’s Coelho’s new novel. Seems interesting. His books are usually very good, although my very favourite is an old one, “Veronica wants to day”. Ciao.

@Sandra: Thank you very much. Glad that Kerry liked the little “things”. Hope they’re the right size for Sophie. She seemed such a big baby to me!
Please tell Kerry to relax and look after her iron level. Mine has gone very down again and I don’t even have a new baby!!!!

Old age?? Ma stai scherzando?? Quanti anni hai, 80??
