I want to move!

After a week in Cornwall and surrounding areas I can only say one thing: I want to move! Yes, I want to move there. Although I like York and Yorkshire I think I’ve finally found my ideal British spot to live. I could seriously contemplate to relocate! The weather was gorgeous and that, of course, contributed to the general wellbeing feeling of the place, but one day there was rain and mist coming from the sea and it was still lovely in its mysterious way.

I’m a South person after all and I’m drawn by the seaside and the beaches, and wow what beaches over there! And the sailing, surfing, fishing, hiking etc….. Ok, there is seaside in Yorkshire as well, but you cannot compared the cold and grey North Sea coast to the beautiful skylike – almost turquoise – blue of the Atlantic Ocean!

What is with my children that they cannot see all this?

I looks lovely, I haven't been to Cornwall since I was 16 - I can't believe it's been that long! I'm glad you enjoyed your week there - the photos are great.

Isn't it beautiful! I'm so envious!

Welcome back. I love Cornwall too.

Welcome back! YES, splendid places I'd love to visit. I'll try to convince my husband for a romantic trip, only the two of us. Teenagers are not attracted by this kind of natural beauty, they prefer exciting big cities or crowded beaches... Thanks for the photos and the possibility to dream -at least - of being there. Cornwall!

Lovely photo's. Cornwall is often mentioned in various fiction that I read. I've been to England but never Cornwall. Glad you had such a good time there.

It looks like a place out of a book or a film where a family goes for a vacation and stays forever. Happy endings do exist!;-)

I love Cornwall too Antonella, its beaches are glorious and the climate is really mild compared to the rest of the country. I think children have to grow up a bit before they can apreciate such beauty. :o)

Love and Hugs

I haven't been there but it does look lovely. Am venturing to Wales this weekend. A bit of sea is just what I need.

It's gorgeous, Antonella! I can totally understand why you'd want to move there.

Hi Antonella, nothing is more attractive than the Ocean to me. I so enjoy living only 2 miles from the gulf. I sure understand what you mean. I hope you can come back to Cornwall often or even move there. I hope your week is starting well, hugs

@Indigo: It’s the first time I can really contemplate of moving from York. It’s a little corner of Paradise!

@notSuperman: You have to go back and visit! In my opinion it beats all “exotic” holiday destinations in the usual Spain, France etc. even some parts of Italy!

@Amy: There are some marvelous places over there as well that can be envied!

@Jane: Just a bit boring for my 15-yrs old. Next time I have to organize some surfing lessons for him (and me!!!)

@Maria Grazia: You’re right, my son is always attracted by London or anywhere he can find a football stadium!

@Seeyouthere: That’s right, Darla. I think that because the location is so romantic and dramatic that inspires authors to write about it. If I were a writer or a painter I couldn’t find a better place to be!

@ModernMom: It is indeed so fantastic!

@LaBelette: I wish this could be my happy ending. With my work I could be anywhere and it wouldn’t make any difference. But unfortunately it’s a bit difficult for my husband. I’m trying to convince him to open an art gallery with coffee shop but that’s not his cup of tea!

@Sandra: My kids are old enough to appreciate beautiful scenery and nature around them. Unfortunately it’s not cool enough….Hope little Sophie is growing well!

Bacioni.

@Beth: if you ever plan a trip to Europe, please be Cornwall be your first stop…And then York to visit me!!!

@Missie: I think living by the sea is something special. I think it makes you feel free and independent. Ciao.

@Mo: Hope you had a great weekend in Wales. There are some lovely spots there as well. I went there last summer and I enjoyed it although it did not have the same impact as Cornwall had on me.

@Hilda: I know for sure that you have some dramatic scenery in your country as well and we can see fantastic things on your blog every day!

@Elizabeth: I love the sea but the Ocean has always a sort of mystery to me, something so vast that cannot be conquered. And so it is. I’m thinking now of all the poor passenger of the Air France flight lost in the Ocean and I see it like the dark monster swallowing everything in its deep!

@Yasmin: Cornwall is well worth a visit, or two, or three…All the best to you, Yasmin!

Antonella, why not try the Hebrides? At this time of the year it hardly gets dark and the light is fabulous
