"The main UN compound in Gaza was ablaze today after being struck by Israeli artillery fire and a spokesman said that the building had been hit by what was thought to be white phosphorus shells." (Reuters)
Sorry if I’m getting on your nerves by now but it seems that the situation is totally out of control.
What will be their excuse this time? That Hamas terrorists were hiding in the UN building? That it was just another "tragic error"?
If these atrocities were carried out by any other middle eastern country there would be sanctions and possible military intervention. The international inaction on this matter reveals something very sinister in western democracy.

Thamks for continuing to highlight this, as usual it's the innocent that suffer.

Thanks to you Yasmin, I'm probably getting rather boring, but I just can't stand this awful situation any more! And I'm here in my cosy house, wth my family, without rockets firing over me...
I feel the same as you Antonella, we have stopped discussing it at home because I get a bit heated on the subject. What does it take to stop the killing of innocents!!!

It's such a terrible terrible thing. I am worried I am becoming hardened and without hope, so thank you that you force me once again to face what is going on in our world.
@Sandra: Thanks for your comment and being patient with me. I tend to get very passionate on what I believe in. I stopped discussing this with my husband as well, mainly because I did not want to "scare" my children! But my dad is still here and I can talk to him. He was a child during WWII and he can understand the horrors!
@Jackie: Thanks to you Jackie for bearing with me! As I was saying before I cannot keep my mouth shut seeing this injustice going on. My voice might not be important but if we cannot speak up we are long dead!
I so agree with you! What is going on is so bad and I truly feel bad for the poor people under attack. It's so frustrating not to be able to help...
It is horrific. Lets hope a resolution is found this week as is rumoured. Where are yo getting your pictures from?
I've just read a wonderful novel: Koolaids by Rabih Alameddine. It's partly about the Lebanese War and constantly as I read it I was reminded of the current situation and how little actually changes sometimes - what will it take...
@Mo: Let's hope that the ceasefire will last and they can start living again. I got the pictures from La Repubblica online, an Italian semi-independent newspaper.
@CGP: Thanks for mentioning the book, I will try to find it and read it. I'm sure it will be interesting.
@Valeria: Hope they'll manage to set up and accept an independent Palestinian state and live peacefully with one another.
