Sob sob!

I’m upset. Nothing really awful happed, but still I’m upset. Someone bumped into my car and scratched it badly. I was not even there, it was parked safely as far as possible from all dangers and still someone managed to bump into it. No note was left, of course not. Is it really too much to ask for some decency in people? I know it’s only a car but it’s almost new and pristine and it will either cost me a few hundred pounds or lose my no-claim bonus. So unjust. Why do I have to pay for other people’s mistakes?

I'm sorry, this sort of thing makes my blood boil. Very very annoying, and as you say, very unjust. x

I can understand your upset.Somebody has damaged your property through no fault of yours! It isn't fair and no note just smacks of indecency!

I'm so really sorry, A. One tries to reflect that it is only a car, that fortunately no-one was hurt, but ... it hurts...one feels impotent and helpless against the folly of the world. Big, big hug! MG

Hi there,
sorry to hear that...But I know how you feel. Some people are just ill-mannered. they don't even apologize for bumping into you let alone your car. Hope things will get better real soon...

I know exactly as you feel. My daughter in California had a big SUV back up into her small sports car, creating a lot of damage to her car (none to his) and left without giving his address or other papers. You see there are bad people everywhere. I am sorry this happened to you too.

That is annoying, and I'm sorry for you. Hassle you can do without.

What a rotten thing to happen - and for the guilty party to just slink off is worse. Sorry to hear it.

That is rotten that who ever hit your car did not leave a note. It happened to me parked on the street right in front of our house. I hope you can get if fixed without spending too much money.

@Everybody: Thanks very much to all of you for your kind words. I won't know the exact extent of the damage until next week. And in the meanwhile I've decided to take a couple of days' break to chill out. Ciao. A.
