Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
1. Grab your current read
2. Open to a random page
3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
4. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
5. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teasers:
"I stepped around him to look at the plesiosaurus laid out in slabs on the floor. It was about nine feet long, and half that width, which accommodated the span of its massive diamond-shaped paddles"
(page 275, Remarkable Creatures, by Tracy Chevalier)

Tracy Chevalier is back at her best again after the disappointing (for me at least!) Burning Bright. In the words of The Guardian: "Historical figures have rarely been so cleverly used ... A stunning story'

Ok I am assuming that a plesiosarus is one of the remarkable creatures from the title. Sounds very interesting,. Enjoy.

The average siamese, then as now, has never taken up seriously the idea of his king being connected with Hindu divinities, who after all had no place in his Buddhist faith....The Siamese king has never in theory been a high priest at any time whatever.
